Why hempcrete

A natural wall that helps your home breathe.

Hempcrete has been used for over 1500 years. Its revival came in the early 1980’s by French architects. Since then it has been made in many forms such as cast in pace walls, blocks with mortar, and now prefabricated panels.

What is hempcrete?

Hempcrete is a simple mix of the woody inner core of the hemp plant, a lime-based binder, and water. Once it sets, it becomes a solid, lightweight wall material that's been used in homes for decades.

Cleaner indoor air

Many conventional walls contain foams, glues, and finishes that can release chemicals into your home over time. Hempcrete is made from natural, non-toxic ingredients, so there's simply less to worry about breathing in.

Walls that breathe

Hempcrete absorbs and releases moisture as humidity changes. That helps keep indoor humidity balanced and makes it much harder for mold and mildew to take hold.

Comfortable all year

The material holds warmth and coolness steadily, so rooms stay more comfortable and temperature swings feel gentler through the day.

Quiet and calm

Thick, dense hempcrete walls soften outside noise, giving your home a peaceful feel.
